Grambling wider receiver Mario Louis pulls down the first of his three touchdown catches in the Bayou Classic.Southern and Grambling faced off in their annual meeting known as the Bayou Classic and for the fourth straight year the Tigers were the victors.
Grambling wide receiver Mario Louis hauled in three touchdown catches from quarterback DJ Williams, as the Tigers beat the Jags 36-12.
Southern and Grambling State are battling one another in the Bayou Classic, the annual rivalry game between the two teams. Grambling leads 36-12 in the fourth quarter.
Southern quarterback JP Douglas found Lee Doss for a touchdown. He was later replaced by Dray Joseph, who threw a touchdown pass to Michael Berry.
Grambling running back Dawrence Roberts added a long touchdown run for the Tigers and Zoltan Riazzo kicked a pair of field goals.
The loss dropped Southern to 4-7 on the year (4-5 in the SWAC).
With the win, Grambling moved up to 7-4 on the season (6-3 in the SWAC) became the SWAC West Division champions and will face Alabama A&M for the conference championship on Dec. 10.
