LSU Gymnastics climbs to #13

BATON ROUGE – GymInfo released the latest national standings on Monday, and the LSU gymnastics team moved up one spot to No. 13 thanks to a season-high 196.850 at Florida on Feb. 10.

The Tigers season average jumped up from 195.145 to 195.429 to move ahead of Auburn who fell from 13th to 17th.

After scoring at least a 49.050 on each event against the Gators, LSU improved in three of the event rankings. LSU stayed put at No. 7 on vault with a 49.254 average, and the Tigers climbed one spot to No. 11 on floor (48.954 average), four spots to No. 20 on beam (48.554) and two spots to No. 21 on bars (48.667).

In the individual rankings, freshman Rheagan Courville moved up to No. 3 nationally on vault with a 9.921 average, and she checked in at No. 21 in the all-around standings with a 39.238 average.

Freshman Lloimincia Hall used her team-leading third 9.90 floor score of the season at Florida to improve four spots in the floor rankings to No. 12 with a 9.875 average.

Utah retained the top spot in the rankings with a 196.855 average, and Florida shot up to No. 2 with a 196.833 average after earning the nation's highest score with the 197.850 against LSU. Oklahoma (196.696), Georgia (196.642) and Arkansas (196.554) round out the top five.

LSU (2-7) will step out of SEC competition this week when the Tigers travel to 23rd-ranked Washington (3-5) for a tri-meet with Seattle Pacific at 9 p.m. CT Friday.
