Tickfaw State Park closed due to high water

Posted: Updated:
LIVINGSTON PARISH, LA (WAFB) -

Tickfaw State Park will be closed until Monday, Feb. 27 due to rising water level of the Tickfaw River.

Officials predict Tickfaw River will crest at 14 feet on Wednesday evening. Because high water is impacting the park's entrance, campground and trails, and threatening the main road of the park, officials hope the park closure will allow time for the water to abate.

Visitors can get the latest information about the park by visiting www.LaStateParks.com, and on Facebook (LA.State.Parks) and Twitter (@LAStateParks).

Guests with overnight reservations who have not been contacted by Louisiana State Parks or ReserveAmerica, can call 877.226.7652 with any questions on Tickfaw State Park's status.
